The City Museum of Bergh immerses visitors in the rich history of the city of ‘s-Heerenberg and the county of Bergh.

The castle city of ‘s-Heerenberg, in which the castle and the town were both situated within the rampart, is depicted using a beautiful interactive model with lighting techniques and animations. The historical stories are told by five notable historical women, each from her own position on the social ladder: a serf farmer's wife, a haughty countess, a gentle countess, a rich lady and the old woman Mechteld ten Ham who was accused of witchcraft. The stories are told using audio and video techniques that provide an intense experience of the stories.

The museum is a great start for a city walk. The walks can be done individually or accompanied by a guide after registration.
